How Ghostwriting Works

The whole process begins and ends with you.

It’s your book, filled with your ideas, and your name goes on the cover. You’ll have a say every step of the way.

You start by sharing what you have—thoughts, notes, drafts. I figure out the kind of book you’re writing, identify the market, and create a structure for the content.

We work together chapter by chapter. I create a draft. You review it and provide feedback. Then I make revisions and pass it back to you for more feedback. We continue with this process until you’re happy.

You bring your perspective and expertise, and I bring in the reader, who only knows what’s on the page, not what’s in your head. I make sure your writing works for them.

To do that, I’ll move ideas and words around, edit content out or add it in. That may feel uncomfortable at first, but we’ll work through it. I’ll listen, explain, and share my professional expertise, but you always have the final say. Why? Because it’s your book.

Who will know you worked with a ghostwriter? Only the people YOU tell. I’ll sign a nondisclosure agreement at our first meeting, so your secret will always be safe with me.

Once the manuscript is finished, you’ll have two publishing options: seek a traditional publisher or self-publish. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of each path so you can make an informed decision.

If you seek a traditional publisher, you’ll need a nonfiction book proposal to secure a literary agent. If I’ve ghosted your book, I can write this document for you for an additional $5,000.

If you decide to self-publish, I can direct you to someone who can walk you through securing your ISBN number (and other important registrations) and getting your book into print. For an additional $5,000, I can create a bestseller marketing plan to help you promote and sell your book.

How do you get started?

Step 1: You hire me to do an Analysis and Recommendations (A&R). I read your manuscript, evaluate its potential and market, and write recommendations for improving its weaknesses. I also prepare a formal bid for the project cost.

Step 2: You decide to fix the manuscript on your own or hire me.

Step 3: We work together until your book project is complete.
